Everything was going really well until….
The oven door broke! I think it was the 10Kg turkey that did it but it’s nearly snapped off…..uh oh…….. On the positive side, nearly everything else is done! Hooray– almost !

Update from Turkey Central….
It’s all go in the kitchen! In fact, I’m not really sure why I’m stopping to write anything– stupidity? Procrastination? Progress? One of those I’m sure…. We have a 9.9 kg turkey this year– and if you think in pounds like I do, it’s just under 22lbs. Wow. It’s like the same size as a…

The Avoca Cafe Cookbook Challenge…
So here we are once again and this week we’re doing two recipes for the challenge- Parma Wrapped Lamb with Savoy Cabbage AND Tracy Salad. Both seem pretty straightforward, although I have to be honest, the lamb is starting to scare me a bit… it’s basically sautéed cabbage and cream with spinach shoved between two…

Thanksgiving is coming!
Some of my earliest food memories revolve around Thanksgiving. In fact, according to my parents Thanksgiving was the first time I really ate solid food—apparently one taste of turkey and I threw away the bottle. The earliest thing I can nearly remember is being about 3 or 4 years old- maybe a bit older, but…
