  • Two Vegetarian Picnics…. one with Fairy Bread!

So we’re 12 days into our Vegetarian Challenge and we have been doing really well.  Truthfully, I don’t crave or miss meat like I thought I would.  We had a lovely dinner with friends on Friday night, it was a veritable feast!  (It was also one of the only non-alcohol, non-meat dinner parties I’ve ever…

  • Artichoke and Red Pepper Souffle Omlette

It’s fast, easy and looks pretty tasty!  A great vegetarian weeknight meal. I adapted the recipe from BBC Good Food but added emmenthal and tasty cheese to give it a bit more flavour than the original recipe called for…. and also because I happened to have extra cheese leftover from the eggplant au gratin last night!…

  • What we’re eating this week or How to expand your mind and not be scared!

So, I thought that this month’s Vegetarian challenge was going to be daunting and hard and disappointing.  I couldn’t have been more wrong.  It’s only Day 4, but it’s actually been awesome so far.  Yes, saying that you’re vegetarian (even for a month) does invite some to question and some to be afraid to eat…

  • What to do with leftover turkey….

We’re experimenting with homemade flour tortillas from Mexican Craving, a new cookbook from Masterchef contestant Ben Milbourne, and leftover turkey in a chili chocolatey sauce with black beans on the side. Fingers crossed it will be edible- but if it’s not, there is still lots of ham in the fridge!!!

Happy birthday to my amazing mother! I know it’s quite cliche to think your mother is amazing and I know I’m super biased but my mother actually is amazing. • Day 18- this is hardly a challenge

More than half of the way through No red meat December and quite frankly I’m a bit bored.  This is not challenging.  This is not that hard.  I don’t feel like I’m denying myself anything and really I’m not.  Giving up red meat for 30 days is a lot easier than I thought it would…

We had a lovely weekend exploring Canberra- well, that was really only Saturday and really, we spent most of it driving in circles.  Canberra, if you’ve never been, should…
